A Distinct Identity
We are interested in meeting other like-minded friends in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. We are an affiliate of the American Humanist Association. Their mission statement is as follows: "We strive to bring about a progressive society where being good without a god is an accepted and respected way to live life. We are accomplishing this through our defense of civil liberties and secular governance, by our outreach to the growing number of people without traditional religious faith, and through a continued refinement and advancement of the humanist worldview.

ARTIFICAL INTELLIGENCE'S CHALLENGE TO HUMANISM

Less than a year ago, large language models (LLM's) such as ChatGPT became readily available to everyone everywhere. Now, regenerative artificial intelligence systems are growing, learning, and becoming "smarter" exponentially in every field where humans have always thrived. This technological movement brings forth incredibly urgent questions about ethics, morals, and the future of humanity. Is humanism ready for A.I.? Bring your thinking caps for this talk...
David Tamayo is the Chief Information Officer at a large aerospace engineering company in the DC area. He is president and founder of Hispanic American Freethinkers. He currently is a Board of Directors member for Freedom From Religion Foundation and a Board Trustee for American Humanist Foundation.

Howard County Fair

Celebrate Native American Culture at this authentic Pow Wow in
Howard County - Event starts at 10 a.m., Parade of Nations is at
Noon.
Tickets are $12 for adults.
Native storytelling, singing, dancing, craft demonstrations, and authentic foods.
This event is INDOORS (air conditioning in July!) at the Howard County Fairgrounds, 2210 Fairgrounds Rd, West, Friendship, MD.
This is approximately a 1 hour drive. Interested individuals should make arrangements to carpool.
Arrangements to carpool/caravan will be made to those who RSVP.
